Hail, Caesar!

Hail, Caesar! boasts on its star-studded cast and the Coen Brothers who directed numerous award-winning movies (True Grit and, No Country For Old Men) but lacks in the comedic element as opposed by its genre.

Set in the 50s, Hail Caesar! focused on the backbone of movie production, Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin) as he fixes the backstage drama during Hollywood's golden era.

With George Clooney, Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johansson and other big names, I was hoping that this would be a hilarious movie for 2016 yet it fell flat with unfunny jokes, awful plot and sub-plots and heavy dialogues.

The "communist" discussion is hard to follow and long, forcing me to question on the genre of this movie. And don't let me start on the sub-plots! From DeeAnna Moran's (Scarlett Johansson) baby mama drama to gossip columnists Thora Thacker/ Thessaly Thacker (Tilda Swinton) who keeps threatening Mannix to publish a story on Baird Whitlock (George Clooney) sodomy scene with movie director Laurence Lorenz (Ralph Fiennes) which are tiring.

It is disappointing considering that Jonah Hill is on the promotional poster yet he's got around 3-4 minutes clip in this 106 minutes film. What's more regrettable, that guy easily stole the show with his expressions and dialogues but we got to see him for a teeny tiny moment.

Watch out for: Channing tatum's dance scene (not in the Magic Mike way)

Watch this if you like: A-list cast and the 1950 settings of Hollywood

Verdict: If you're looking for a laugh, do not waste your time and money on this.
