"A new milestone for Malay movies"
Finally! An all new Malay movie polished up for us viewers. Polis Evo promises explosions, insane action stunts and plenty of laughter by our favorite comedian; Zizan.
Zizan Razak and Shaheizy Sam kick asses in this new action flick directed by Ghaz Abu Bakar (who also directed Cicak Man 3) revolving around two cops from different backgrounds competing to take down the drug kingpin in Terengganu.
Although the concept of two cops cat-fighting is not exactly new, its expensive looking action stunts may confuse you with a high-budget Hollywood movie. No, seriously.
As for the acting chops, Zizan really did it this time. His character, Inspektor Sani is slightly different than his previous zany characters. A notable scene is when Inspektor Sani miserably blames himself when his sister (Nora Danish) was abducted by the bad guys. He managed to switch the mood of a cheerful guy to a furious and anguish cop.
Not to forget, Shaheizy Sam flaunts his new chiseled body from 5-months of intensive training and adapting the Atkins diet program (which I cannot even stand for 3 days).
His commitment for this movie is definitely something to be praised for.
All in all, Polis Evo will be a new milestone for Malay movies. It's nice to see our entertainment industry upping their game to stand with Hollywood or even neighboring countries. Here's to seeing more quality movies from our very own directors and actors.
