Unfriended

Upon the release of its trailers, people weren't expecting much for this movie. In fact, they even predicted that this might be the worst movie of 2015. The story is about a ghost of a dead girl (Laura Barns) who killed herself after someone posted an embarrassing video of herself wasted. On the night of the death of Laura's anniversary, she started to haunt her high school friends ONLINE and kill them one by one.

The plot is pretty illogical if you ask me. How can a ghost be online and use Skype? However, I'd like to think of this movie as the re-imagination of The Ring and One Missed Call with a more modern approach.

However, I was pretty disappointed with the approach of this movie as it was entirely from the main character's laptop screen. This means that you'll be watching a layered of windows and tabs while the other characters were also introduced on Skype.

Offering some cheap scares and gory scenes, Unfriended would be a great movie if you're expecting a new variation in found footage supernatural genre. With a 62% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, there might be a chance for a sequel.

Watch out for: Unique death by a (blender?)

Watch this if you like: Found footage horror like Paranormal Activity

Rating: 7/10
